Several communities and organizations in Western Pennsylvania are getting state grants to help cover assistance for those experiencing homelessness.
The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development is distributing five million dollars to support homeless services statewide. Catholic Charities and SPHS in Washington County are getting 85 thousand dollars of that funding to cover rent costs and other needs for more than a dozen families and to support an emergency shelter. 300 thousand is going toward a warming shelter and several nonprofit housing operations in Butler County.
