Harold Joseph Anderson, 92, went to be with his Lord and saviour on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the home of his daughter.
He was born in Anita on December 05, 1932, a son of the late Charles Anderson and Mary (Johnson) Anderson.
Mr. Anderson was a United States Army veteran who served our country during the Korean Conflict from 1953-1955.
After returning home, he married the love of his life, Arlene Vera Pierce on November 05, 1955. They had a wonderful marriage of sixty-nine years prior to her death on January 16, 2024.
His faith was the cornerstone of his life. A lifetime member of the Smithport Wesleyan Methodist Church. He served in various roles of the church over the years, including being the Superintendent for many years. Whether through his leadership, prayers or quiet acts of kindness, he was a pillar of strength and encouragement to all who knew him.
Harold was known for his warm heart, unwavering integrity and deep love for his family.
He is survived by four children, his caregiver/daughter Tationia “Shawnee” Friend of Punxsutawney, Joseph (Kathy) Anderson of Rossiter, Linnea “Lynn” (Alan) Smith of Punxsutawney and Rita (Dave Boboige) Campagnola of DuBois; eleven grandchildren; Tonya (Dan) Milton, Tennelle (Paul) Dienes, Leshawna (Paul) Greenawalt, Letrisha (Chip) Herr, Misty (Jeff) Kimmerlee, Jared (Brittany) Pennington, Joseph Campagnola, Matthew (Erin) Campagnola, Jaci Campagnola, Dr. Kelly (Joesph Ruscitti) Smith, Jodi (James) Presloid; 28 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents and wife Arlene, granddaughter, Amber Pennington, son-inlaw, Jack Friend; six brothers, George, Elmer, Hildeen, Wilbert, Gordon, and Charles Anderson, Jr.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2025, and from 9 until the time of service on Saturday at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at Noon Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Bill Davis. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Jefferson County Honor Guard.
Interment will follow at Union Hill Cemetery, Rossiter.
