PUNXSUTAWNEY BOROUGH COUNCIL RESOLVES TIE VOTE ON NEW MEMBER

Punxsutawney Borough Council held a special meeting to resolve a tied vote from the previous week on appointing a new council member.

The Punxsutawney Spirit reports, Initially, Kim Wittenberg’s nomination ended in a tie, and Mayor Rich Alexander was absent. A second motion led to Joe Ferrara being elected 4-2. At the special meeting, with Council President Justin Cameron absent, Vice President Josh McAfoos led. With only five members present, Wittenberg was nominated first and approved by a 3-2 vote, securing her appointment.
