Martin Allen Decker, 65, of Portage, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025, at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Punxsutawney on February 05, 1960, a son of the late Gordon Blaine Decker and Marie (Kline) Decker.
Marty was a 1978 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School.
In his younger years, he loved to play baseball for the Punxsy Hotel team. He was an Elton John fan, an avid Raiders fan and loved exploring Gettysburg. He was the best dad a boy could ask for, he loved to spend time with his family and adored his grandchildren.
Marty was a dedicated hard worker, he worked for BFG Manufacturing in Punxsutawney for twenty plus years, followed by over eight years of working at Sheetz Distribution center in Claysburg.
He is survived by four sons, Brandon Alan (Elizabeth)Decker of Oil City, Shane Alan(Kaylee Carcella of DuBois) Decker of Big Run, Ty Alan (Stacey) Decker of St. Thomas, PA and Jordan Alan Decker of Portage; Roberta Lane, his lifelong friend and mother of the four sons; five grandchildren, Jazzy Myers, Nevaeh Decker, Logan Decker, Kinsley Decker and Addilynn Decker; two brothers, Jeff (Cathy) Decker of Lebanon and Gordon (Sona) Decker of North Carolina; two sisters, Linda (Mike) Frederick and Brenda (Joe) Jacobs, all of Ashtabula, Ohio; brother in-law, Richard Bush of Punxsutawney.
Preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Melody Bush.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Doug Wolfe.
His ashes will be interred at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
Memorial donations may be made in Marty’s memory to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
