More depth of detail has been released in the stalking and assault of a woman and her companion in Washington Township last weekend.
A Penfield man, 45-year-old William Marvin Koppenhaver, is accused of stalking, threatening, and assaulting his estranged wife and another individual last Sunday afternoon.
Investigators allege Koppenhaver used some sort of tracking device on his estranged wife’s truck and they say a witness saw him underneath the vehicle.
DuBois State Police filed six total charges against Koppenhaver, including stalking, terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment in magisterial court.
According to the criminal complaint, Koppenhaver repeatedly called and sent text messages to his estranged wife. She told him to stop, but instead Koppenhaver followed her and a known man to a golf course on Airport Road in Washington Township, Jefferson County, where he confronted the ex’s companion on the eighth hole, drew a knife, and threatened to “slit his throat.”
Koppenhaver was arraigned Monday with bail set at $20,000.00.
He posted bond and was released Tuesday.
The preliminary hearing is set for October 22 in front of Judge Inzana.
