The Jefferson County Commissioners have adopted a resolution imposing a 30-day outdoor burn ban, which starts at noon today.
Open burning is defined as some combustible material like garbage, leaves, grass, twigs, and litter. Charcoal, propane and tobacco are permitted, as well as camp fires in a fire ring.
A person who violates this act is subject to fines.
