Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman Jr. has not yet released the name of the Rochester Mills man who died Saturday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Route 119 in Rayne Township. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
State police say the accident happened at about 2:30 PM when the man’s northbound pickup truck crossed the centerline of the highway, hit a tree in a field, and then continued into the guiderail. The victim died at the scene.
Marion Center and Plumville firefighters responded.
Yesterday afternoon, further north on Route 119 in North Mahoning Township, Marion Center firefighters were back in action for a motorcycle accident. Firefighters from Perry Township, Jefferson County were also dispatched, along with a medical helicopter.
Police have not yet filed a report.
