The Punxsutawney Spirit says, PA Department of Health has reported two more people in Jefferson County have died from COVID-19. Jefferson County reported 32 new cases bringing the county’s total to 1,071 as of Sunday, Dec. 6. Clarion county reported 118 new cases, Indiana 61, and Clearfield 52.
The Punxsutawney School District has reported that a staff member at the elementary school has tested positive for coronavirus. According to administrators the staff member was in the school on Thursday. The case is not believed to be related to any of the previous cases in the district and the people who had close contact with the staff member have been instructed to quarantine.
Statewide, there were 11,763 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 398,600. there were 5,071 individuals hospitalized with coronavirus and 1,065 of them were in intensive care units.
