New details have a California couple now in jail following a high-speed pursuit on I-80. Clarion State Police tried to stop the vehicle, which then took off. That vehicle crashed into a utility pole at the intersection of I-80 and State Route 28 after a 20-mile pursuit, this according to explorejeffersonpa.com.
Following the crash, both occupants fled on foot and were apprehended a short distance later. Authorities say, the occupants have been identified as 45-year-old David Vasquez and 39-year-old Jenny Hodge, both of California.
Police discovered the vehicle was stolen from California and Vasquez was in the possession of drugs and wanted in the state of California.
Vasquez was arraigned for a number of charges including Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Attempting to Elude an Officer. Hodge was arraigned for three charges including Flight to Avoid Apprehension and Resisting Arrest. They were both lodged in Clarion County Jail pending bail.
Preliminary hearings are scheduled for December 22.
