One person was trapped as a garage collapsed in Tanoma Wednesday afternoon.
Rescue crews from Clymer, Marion Center, Commodore, Indiana, and Hope Fire Departments were on the scene for about an hour.
Clymer Fire Chief Jeff Gromley said that two people were building a garage at a home on Dales Road when it collapsed. Chief Gromley said rescuers were unable to get their rescue truck up to the garage because of the terrain, so all-terrain vehicles from some of the fire departments were used to transport men and equipment to the garage to stabilize the structure.
No word on why the garage collapsed. The man trapped in the collapse was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for treatment of unknown injuries. The other man was taken by ambulance to another hospital. The names of the victims have not been released.
