
A group of five local men raised more than $25,000 in 10 days, helping save the local chapter of the Salvation Army.
According to the Punxsutawney Spirit, donations have dropped during the COVID-19 pandemic making this season a struggle during the Red Kettle campaign.
Capt. Dawn Carter commander of the Local Salvation Army said they were short of their fundraising goal and she was worried some of their programs would not survive.
