UPDATE: Five individuals are homeless after a fire in Brookville on Western Ave that broke out just before 7 pm on News Years Day.
According to ExploreJeffersonPA.com, Brookville, Reynoldsville, and Pinecreek Volunteer Fire Departments along with six others and Jefferson County EMS were on the scene.
No further details have been released.

The house fire has been ruled as arson by police.
According to the report, it was determined that someone intentionally set the home on fire.
The victims were not home at the time and no injuries were reported, but three dogs and two cats died in the fire.
