
A 40-year-old Smicksburg man is facing multiple charges after a traffic stop in Punxsutawney Monday.
State Police say they stopped the vehicle on West Mahoning street just before 8 pm after observing traffic violations. The man showed signs of impairment and officers conducted a field sobriety test which lead to a DUI arrest. Officers say an 8-year-old child was a passenger in the vehicle.
Criminal charges are pending.

State Police are investigating a burglary that occurred sometime between Jan. 6 and Jan. 8 on Paradise Road in Henderson Township of Jefferson County.
Officers say someone entered a 48-year-old Stump Creek man’s garage and took more than 150 pounds of copper wire and a metal barrel before fleeing the scene.

A 54-year-old Punxsutawney man was arrested by State Police for suspicion of DUI on Jan. 17.
Officers say they stopped the man’s vehicle on Summit Road in Bell Township of Jefferson County for an equipment violation.
During the stop police say the driver appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was taken into custody.

A 52-year-old Dubois man was transported to Punxsutawney Area Hospital after a one-vehicle accident in Gaskill Township on Jan 19.
State Police say, the man was driving too fast for conditions on Winslow Road just north of Bonner Road. The vehicle slid on the snow off the roadway and struck a guiderail on the left side of the road and then an embankment on the right.
The driver was wearing a seatbelt and sustained suspected minor injuries.
Jefferson County EMS and Big Run Fire Department assisted at the scene.

State police are investigating a report of child endangerment in Timblin Borough of Jefferson County.
According to ExploreJeffersonPA.com, police say an incident of endangering the welfare of a child was reported Jan. 4. The incident involved a 13-year-old Brockport girl and reportedly occurred at a location on South State Street in Timblin Borough.
The investigation is ongoing.

A 34-year-old Sykesville man is facing charges for allegedly damaging a woman’s vehicle then attempting to restrain her in the vehicle when she tried to leave.
According to ExploreJeffersonPA.com, the charges stem from an incident that occurred on Dec. 22 in Knox Township of Jefferson County. The victim said she was in her vehicle with the man when they got into a verbal argument. The man allegedly struck the windshield and passenger window of the vehicle causing damage.
The victim stopped the vehicle and tried to leave when the man allegedly attempted to restrain her.
The victim freed herself and got into a vehicle that was passing by and the driver helped her contact the police.
State Police filed charges Jan. 15. A preliminary hearing is set for March 2.

A 29-yer-old Punxsutawney man was not injured during a rollover crash in Bell Township of Jefferson County Jan. 19.
Troopers say the man was traveling on Summit Road, tried to slow down and slid on the icy road into an embankment. The vehicle overturned and came to a rest on its drivers side.
The driver was wearing a seatbelt did not report any injuries. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.
McCalmont Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.

A 38-year-old Commodore woman was held at the Indiana County Jail Thursday after state police said she violated a court-issued protection from abuse order held by a 52-year-old Commodore man.
Troopers at Indiana said she would be arraigned for contempt of court.
