
The Brookville Borough Council discussed the possiblity of acquiring a new backhoe for the public works department at Tuesday night’s meeting.
According to the Punxsy Spirit, the public works director noted that the borough had budgeted for a new truck but he believed a backhoe was a more pressing need.
Other council member noted that PA laws regarding purchasing used equipment can be dificult to navigate. They believed by law it would have to be bid out before the borough could make a purchase, but stil thought it would be worth exploring other avenues.
The council apporoved the search for a new backhoe unanimously.
