
Two people, both of Vandergrift, were arrested following a traffic stop in Oliver Township of Jefferson County on Saturday.
Troopers say, they stopped the vehicle on Route 36 near Cemetery Hill Road and reportedly found the driver, a 59-year-old Vandergrift man, to be under the influence. He was the arrested for suspicion of DUI. Police say the passenger, a 46-year-old Vandergrift woman, was then arrested for possessing drugs and paraphernalia.
Charges are pending.

Troopers say spike strips were utilized to end a pursuit that began on I-80 Sunday.
State Police in Punxsutawney attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a utility-style truck in the area of mile marker 71 on I-80 westbound in Clarion Township for equipment violations.
Police say the truck failed to stop and continued westbound. The truck then used a cross-over to move to the eastbound lanes in the area of mile marker 62 and started traveling east. It then exited the interstate, traveled into Clarion Borough, then traveled back toward the interstate, where spike strips were successfully used to stop the vehicle. Police say the driver, a 37-year-old man from North East, PA, then attempted to flee on foot before being taken into custody.
Clarion State and Borough Police assisted at the scene.

A vehicle struck a house in Greene Township of Indiana County last Thursday.
State Police in Indiana say a 37-year-old Clymer man was traveling along State Route 240 near Valley Road when he traveled off the roadway and struck a house causing significant damage.
Authorities say the driver fled the scene before State Police arrived. He was later located and charges were filed.

Area emergency crews responded to multiple vehicle accidents Tuesday morning. Crews responded to the two accidents after 5:00 this morning.
According to Jefferson County Fire Wire, Falls Creek Fire Department responded to a reported rollover crash on I-80 westbound near mile marker 92 just before 5:30 this morning.
Big Run Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident on Route 119 near the Camouflage Inn around 5:40 this morning.
No further details have been released. No word yet on any injuries
