Michael Trunzo of Brockway was arrested for marijuana possession and paraphernalia.
Reports say around 1 am on Saturday the 15th, Brockway Police saw a car leaving the Sheetz parking lot with an inoperable brake light and registration lamp. After initiating a traffic stop, when the officer made contact with Trunzo he caught a faint smell of marijuana. Trunzo denied it at first but then said he had a pipe and handed it over. The officer asked Trunzo if he had smoked recently and Trunzo said two days ago.
Trunzo passed a field sobriety test and was informed that officers had a probable cause to search and asked if there was anything in the car. Trunzo said he had about two ounces of marijuana in the trunk. He was placed in custody and marijuana and assorted drug paraphernalia was found.
Trunzo was arraigned Saturday in Judge Inzana’s office and lodged in the Jefferson County Jail unable to post bail. His preliminary hearing with Judge Inzana is Friday.
