
A DuBois man has been charged by DuBois City Police for allegedly using his ex-girlfriend’s debit card and making over $6,000 worth of unauthorized transactions.
According to GANT News, police charged 40-year-old Nicholas Kohlberg with theft by unlawful taking and other related charges after they found he used the card starting in Dec. of 2019 about a month after the relationship with the victim ended till October of last year.
The victim reported the unauthorized activity to police in November and listed Kohlberg as the person using the account. She reported she did not give him permission to use her card.
He reportedly charged the card over 90 times at a local beer distributor, over 60 times for PlayStation network, among other related instances.
Police say Kohlberg reportedly admitted to the theft and explained the victim did provide her bank debit car number to him to make a PlayStation and small beer purchase.
A preliminary hearing is set for March 21st.
