Organizers are looking for funding to help with the Ox Hill Fair’s move to a new location.
The 2020 edition of the fair was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but over the past few years, the fair board has been unable to come to terms with landowners to purchase the land that has hosted the fair for the last 84 years. Doug Marshall, the fair board president, said that they have been able to find a new home for the fair a few miles away from the old fair’s location.
To help with the purchase of the land and expenses connected with moving the fair to their possible new home, Marshall has started a GoFundMe page for the fair. They are looking to raise $50,000 and so far, $325 has been raised in the first four days. Marshall said that they have also started to receive checks by snail-mail from people who were not able to contribute online. Marshall is hopeful that there will be a 2021 edition of the Ox Hill Community Fair.
