Governor Tom Wolf announced this morning some changes to the state’s Covid-19 restrictions, including those involving travel and gathering sizes.
Those changes include:
– Eliminating out-of-state travel restrictions, including the requirement of a Covid-19 test after travelling out of state or quarantine for 14 days upon returning to Pennsylvania.
– Revising the maximum occupancy limits for indoor events to 15 percent of the building’s capacity, no matter what size the venue is
– Revising the maximum occupancy limits for outdoor events to 20 percent of the area’s maximum occupancy, regardless of venue size.
The Wolf administration considered a lot of data before coming to this decision, including the percent of the population receiving at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine, which as of February 26th was 14 percent; the current positivity rate across the state, which stands at 6.3 percent; the incidence rate per 100,000 residents over a seven day period, which is now 101.3; and hospital bed capacity, which stands at 41 percent.
Wolf said the numbers are dropping because people are following mitigation efforts including mask-wearing, social distancing, and hand washing.
