Police say a Franklin man was rescued after being found trapped in a storm drain in Venango County on Friday night.
According to ExploreClarion.com, a Franklin resident called 911 after reportedly hearing a man trapped in a sewer pipe.
Multiple rescue crews responded to the scene, where camera equipment was used to determine the exact location of the trapped man.
EMS Rescue workers were able to dig through a covered portion of the ground to extricate him from a sewer drain access cover that had been buried. He was then transported to UPMC Northwest for additional medical evaluation.
Police say it is still undermined why the man had entered the sewer drain and it is unknown how long the man had been trapped.
