More than 100 counts of animal cruelty and neglect have been filed against a New Bethlehem woman after 22 dead animals were discovered at an Armstrong County residence.
According to ExploreJeffersonPA.com, an Armstrong County Humane Officer filed criminal charges against 43-year-old Keri Beth Wolfe on Monday.
A criminal complaint notes that a search warrant was served Monday at a residence along Bingham Road in Madison Township regarding a complaint of the alleged neglect of animals at the residence owned by Wolfe. On scene, authorities found six dead birds, seven dead dogs, six dead rabbits, and three dead cats. Authorities said an extreme amount of trash inside the building made moving around difficult during the search. In addition to the dead animals, police reportedly found overflowing litter boxes, mold, and feces. The complaint notes that officers did not see food or water for the animals, although there was unopened wet dog food in the kitchen.
Numerous cats and two dogs were transported to rescue.
Wolfe was lodged in Armstrong County Jail. A preliminary hearing is set for March 30.
