A motorcyclist was airlifted to UPMC Altoona Saturday afternoon following a crash on State Route 949.
State Police in Marienville say the accident happened at Spring Creek Road in Heath Township of Jefferson County when 59-year-old Karlton M. Palmer of Ridgway lost control of the motorcycle while attempting to negotiate a curve in the roadway.
Police say Palmer then fell off the vehicle and off of the west berm into a parking lot area. The vehicle slid to the west berm before coming to a final rest.
Palmer suffered injuries of unknown severity and was transported to UPMC Altoona via Jefferson County EMS and STAT MedEvac.
Sigel Volunteer Fire Department and Sigel Fire Station 2 assisted on scene.

State Police Troop C has released its stat report for the Month on March.
According to the report, 488 incidents were logged in Punxsutawney, 1,174 in DuBois, and 1,345 in Clearfield.
Troopers made 28 criminal arrests in Punxsutawney, 30 in DuBois and 36 in Clearfield. There were 20 crashes in Punxsutawney with 7 injuries, 26 in Dubois 12 injuries, and 32 in Clearfield with 11 injuries. There were no fatal crashes in Punxsutawney or DuBois and one fatal crash in Clearfield for the month of March.
Troopers report that there were 3 DUI-related crashes in Punxsy, 4 in Dubois, and 3 in Clearfield with no DUI-related fatalities in those areas.

Police say a vehicle that was stolen in DuBois was recovered in Elk County on Saturday following a report of shots fired during a domestic incident in Ridgway Township.
State Police in Ridgway responded just before 1:00 am Saturday to a residence along Montmorenci Road. Police say the suspect in the incident, identified as 30-year-old Timothy Bender of Ridgway, fled into the woods before police arrived on scene. Troopers searched the area and Bender was taken into custody without further incident. Police say an investigation found that Bender had allegedly stole a vehicle in Dubois and drove it to the location where it was later recovered.
The victims of the incident are listed as a 74-year-old Ridgway man, a 74-year-old Ridgway woman and a 21-year-old Bigler woman.
Police say Bender has been charged and lodged in Elk County Jail in lieu of bail.
