State Police in Punxsutawney have filed charges against a 29-year-old Big Run man who is accused of the rape of a young child.
According to ExploreJeffersonPA.com, Child advocated conducted a forensic interview with the 7-year-old victim in February of this year and the charges were filed in March. They stem from the alleged sexual assault that occurred sometime between November 1 of 2018 and August 3, of 2019.
The man is facing felony charges of rape of a child, aggravated indecent assault and related charges.
A preliminary hearing is set for April 27.

State Police reported that 53-year-old Mark Stouffer, of Patton, Cambria County, was sent by medical helicopter to an unspecified hospital for treatment of injuries following a motorcycle crash in Burnside Township of Clearfield County last Saturday.
Police say the motorcycle ran off Route 219 when the throttle stuck and hit a guardrail near Kantz Hill Road.
Citizens Ambulance Service and the Glen Campbell fire department assisted at the scene.

The Pennsylvania State Police announced on Thursday that troopers confiscated over $17 million worth of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and other illicit drugs in the first quarter of 2021.
From January 1 through March 31, state police seized over 200 pounds of cocaine, with a street value of nearly $5.6 million. Troopers also seized over 300 pounds of methamphetamine and over 50 pounds of heroin and fentanyl from Pennsylvania communities.
State Police also collected over 900 pounds of prescription and other medication as part of its drug take-back program in the first quarter of 2021. There are 65 drug take-back boxes at state police stations throughout the commonwealth, providing a safe way to dispose of unused or unwanted medication.
