
A 29-year-old Glen Campbell man recently pleaded guilty to simple assault in a case that reportedly began as an attempted homicide investigation.
According to the Punxsy Spirit, Anthony Clyde Boggs Jr. was sentenced to 6 to 24 months in Jefferson County Jail in connection with an incident involving a gun that occurred in Punxsutawney last year.
Police filed charges on November 3 when Boggs reportedly pointed a gun at another person on Woodland Avenue. The victim said he had been in a dispute with Boggs and had returned to the scene to try and work things out. When he got back Boggs reportedly confronted him outside with the gun and pulled the trigger, but the gun did not fire.
In addition to jail time Boggs was sentenced to pay costs and fines.

State Police in Indiana are investigating multiple reports of theft and burglary that happened in a 24 hour time span.
According to WCCSRadio.com, since Monday morning police have investigated at least five thefts from vehicles, and two incidents of burglary that happened in White, Cherryhill, and Rayne Townships of Indiana County.
As the investigations continue, police are advising residents to secure their vehicles and property and to report any suspicious activity by calling 724-357-1960.
