Gas prices in Western Pennsylvania are two cents higher this week at $3.17 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.
Jefferson County drivers are paying an average of $3.19 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline. In the surrounding area gas prices are $3.19 in Indiana County, $3,22 in Clarion, and $3.20 in Clearfield.
AAA expects 37 million Americans to travel, mostly by car and plane, for the Memorial Day holiday weekend. These motorists will see the most expensive Memorial Day weekend gas prices since 2014. The national average has stabilized following the Colonial Pipeline cyberattack, but pump prices are likely to fluctuate leading up to the holiday weekend.
