Tabitha Priester of Clarion has been charged with stealing an iPhone from a construction company.
According to reports in August of last year, police responded to a call from a local construction company when a phone showed higher than normal data usage and almost 400 calls made from it. When one of the numbers was called, the person said Priester had stolen the phone and used it. When Priester was confronted, she admitted to having and using the phone. When told she would have to pay the overages, she said she didn’t have any money and gave the phone away, trading it, in her words, for a pair of shoes.
Priester was arraigned Friday in Judge Quinns office and has a preliminary hearing on September 24th.
