Brookville Borough Council members were supportive of a resident’s request for an ordinance amendment that will enable him to build a new funeral home off Allegheny Boulevard.
According to the Punxsy Spirit, licensed funeral director and embalmer, Lance Carrier attended Tuesday’s meeting after his request was denied by the borough’s zoning hearing board. Several residents attended in support of Carrier along with Jefferson County Coroner Brenda Shumaker.
Carrier said he also spoke with the other business members in the area and they had no problem with a funeral home operating at that location.
Council members did not object to the request and noted a hearing would have to be held before the amended ordinance could be approved.
