
Punxsutawney Borough Police filed criminal charges against a Reynoldsville woman who allegedly picked up a dropped wallet and used a debit card inside to buy over $200 in lottery tickets.
The victim reported on May 17 that his debit card had been stolen after loosing his wallet the day before. He told police that he checked his account and had seen that his card was used several times at two convenience stores in Punxsutawney. Police contacted the stores for video footage – the footage reportedly showed 22-year-old Shacha Frantz pick up the victim’s wallet after he dropped and use it inside the store to buy lottery tickets. She was charged with theft and related charges.
A preliminary hearing is set for July 29.

Police say a DuBois man was injured following a one-vehicle crash in Winslow Township of Jefferson County on May 27.
State Police in DuBois say the crash occurred along Route 322 near Pleasant Valley Road when 51-year-old Christopher Snyder lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason, ran off the road, stuck a tree, then continued forward to strike another tree.
Police say Snyder sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported to UPMC Altoona by Reynoldsville Area Ambulance Service.

The DuBois City Police Department is investigating a reported stabbing on Sunday where three men were injured and one was flow to Pittsburgh for life-threatening injuries.
The Courier Express reports that officers were dispatched to a residence on West Washington Avenue in DuBois around 5:30 pm. Police were then informed that two men had fled the scene. Upon arrival, police made contact with a 28-year-old man who reportedly had stab wounds to the chest and an uninjured woman who reportedly told police there had been a confrontation that lead to the altercation. Police were then dispatched to Penn Highlands Emergency Room for a unknown man with a stab wound to the neck and multiple wounds to the abdomen and a 25-year-old man with a hand laceration. Police determined the men were connected to the incident and interviewed the 28-year-old and 25-year-old once they were medically cleared.
The unknown man was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital with life-threatening injuries.
No additional details were released as the investigation is ongoing.

Police say a Punxsutawney man was injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred in Redbank Township of Armstrong County Saturday afternoon.
State Police in Kittanning say the accident happened on Dayton Road at its intersection with Porter Road when a vehicle, driven by 18-year-old Malachi Pequeen of Punxsutawney was stopped at a stop sign and failed to see another vehicle, driven by 34-year-old Ricky A. Over of Mayport, enter the intersection. Over’s vehicle struck the passenger side of Pequeen’s vehicle, pushing it into a telephone pole.
Pequeen suffered suspected minor injuries but was not transported. Over was not injured.
