Penn State has announced the suspension of dozens of students for failing to comply with coronavirus mitigation guidelines.
The suspensions were handed down against 117 students on Penn State’s main campus. COVID protocols require students to show proof of a vaccination or undergo a test at least once a week. School officials say the suspensions were issued because the students failed to comply for at least three weeks. Those suspended cannot attend classes, university-related activities like football games, are not allowed on university property and must find other temporary housing if they live on campus.
Officials say they have done everything they reasonably can to ensure the students are aware of their obligation.
