Motorists are being advised to exercise patience as they take to the roads for the Christmas holiday.
Officials with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission say they expect a 40 percent increase in volume on the toll road compared to last year, when pandemic-related restrictions kept people closer to home. An estimated 650,000 motorists are expected to travel the Turnpike today. Turnpike officials say daily volumes are expected to total between 600,000 and 625,000 from December 28th through the 30th.
