Seasonal influenza is becoming more prevalent in Pennsylvania.
Since the start of the 2021-2022 flu season, Jefferson County has 131 confirmed cases of seasonal influenza. In Indiana County, there have been 93 cases, while Clearfield County has the highest number with 264 people who tested positive for the flu.
Across the commonwealth, 11 people have died from influenza this season so far, and ER visits for flu-related illness increased slightly across the state over last week. It also remains higher than where it was last year at this time.
