More details have been released about the accident on I-80 where a DuBois man was flown by LifeFlight from the scene last Thursday around 4:30 pm.
Pennsylvania State Police in Clarion report 68-year-old James Thorpe was traveling eastbound when he had a medical emergency and lost consciousness near mile marker 65. His compact SUV hit a guide rail and rolled over onto it’s roof before coming to a rest. Thorpe was partially ejected to the passenger side with part of his body in the vehicle and the other half of the interstate.
Thorpe was flown to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment of injuries. His passenger, 21 year-old Ida Miller of Punxsutawney was able to unbuckle her seat belt and crawl away without injury.
