The Chairman of the Jefferson County Republican Party supports changing the way school board directors are elected.
Today’s edition of the Punxsutawney Spirit reports, Chad Horner, Chairman of the Jefferson County Republican Party, attended the Punxsutawney Area School Board meeting yesterday stating: “…switching to elect school board members at large would provide for more competition among candidates,” adding “…he believes this competition would serve the interest of all taxpayers in the district.”
School board president Cindy Depp-Hutchinson said the board will get that information to the new members and put it on the agenda for March.
