Last night at the Punxsutawney Borough Council meeting the President of the Punxsutawney Area Chamber of Commerce, Katie Laska proposed a change in the zoning code to encourage new businesses to open and for existing businesses to expand in town.
Stevette Rosen, Vice President of the Chamber and General Manager of Renda Radio in Punxsutawney, reports a locally owned and operated brewery was recently denied to open a business due to zoning restrictions that prohibit them from brewing and selling from the same facility along Findley Street. The majority of the council agreed it was time to reconsider zoning in the borough; however, the first action is to have a written plan from the brewery.
