The Steelers worked out in shorts and tee shirts yesterday, and Najee Harris was a limited participant. He said he is okay to play despite injuring his foot last Sunday and also he is open to rookie backup Jaylen Warren getting some carries in games to get himself off the field for a few plays.
TJ Watt was out. Cornerback Levi Wallace and center Mason Cole both were limited, with ankle injuries. Linebacker Robert Spillane, who suffered an eye injury last weekend, was a full participant.
Quarterback Mitch Trubisky completed 21 of 38 passes for 194 yards on Sunday, averaging only 5.1 yards per throw, but he said yesterday that he took his shots further down the field. Trubisky expects that the longer passes will start to hook up and that will help the offense.
Cornerback Levi Wallace played for Buffalo last season and is used to playing the Patriots twice a season. He says New England’s Mac Jones is a good quarterback and he expects Jones to play despite suffering back spasms last Sunday.
Week two of the NFL season arrives tonight with the Chiefs hosting the Chargers in an AFC West clash between the two teams expected to battle it out for the top spot in the division. Both teams started the season with wins last Sunday.
