Forbes Magazine is out with its list of the most successful privately held businesses in the US, and, several Pennsylvania companies made the list.
The list names the top 100 private companies, meaning they are not traded on the New York Stock Exchange. Pennsylvania companies include Harrisburg-based tech and electronics firm D and H Distributing which came in at 94.
Coming in at 37 is Altoona-based convenience store chain Sheetz, while its cross-state rival Wawa is listed at 34. Meanwhile, supermarket chain Giant Eagle is number 39, while hardware company 84 Lumber was listed at number 74.
