The Jeff Tech Operating Committee met in regular session last night. Sam Bundy reports.
One item that was approved was a dual credit affiliation agreement with Penn State University to provide coursework for Jeff Tech students. School Director Dr. Barry Fillman said the agreement is designed to help students who want to start their own business.
“They can be really good at welding or working on automobiles or any number of our trades…the struggle is to be good at running a business,” he said.
Dr. Fillman said students will be able to take courses on basic business principles, entrepreneurship, and how to market and sell a product. He added that this agreement will “swing the door open” for future dual affiliation credit agreements with Penn State.
The committee also set the Jeff Tech graduation date for Friday, May 26, at 7 p.m.
