A former CEO of a nursing home in DuBois was sentenced to state prison for diverting funds from Christ The King Manor to fund personal expenses, including vacations, vehicle purchases and supporting the Sykesville AG and Youth Fair.
GantNews.Com reports, 65 year old Samuel Joseph Zaffuto of Sykesville, who was originally charged with 19 felony charges and 17 misdemeanors, reached a plea agreement for only one felony charge of theft and ordered to pay restitution of over $70,694.73 before being sentenced to nine months to five years in state prison.
The report adds more money was alleged to be taken, which may be pursued in a civil case.
