
The findings of a new health study rank Clarion and Jefferson Counties near the bottom.
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute found of the 67 counties in Pennsylvania, Clarion County ranked 56th and Jefferson County was ranked 52nd.
The study includes a number of different factors in the length of life, quality of life, health behaviors, clinical care, physical environment, and social and economic factors. Other factors include the smoking, excessive drinking, obesity and rate of teen births.
Clearfield County ranked a bit higher at 36th in the state. Forest County ranked far higher at 21st in the state.
County officials are aware of these concerns.
