Clarion County Officials are hopeful to be included on a shortlist to host the USDA, which could bring 620 federal jobs to Clarion County.
According to ExploreClarion.com, U.S. Senator Bob Casey stated his support for the project in a letter to the USDA and voiced why Clarion County is best suited for the relocation.
The National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) and Economic Research Services (ERS) headquarters are currently in Washington, D.C., in the General Services Administration space and the move to Clarion could bring 620 federal jobs to the region.
The USDA is expected to announce its “shortlist” by the end of the year.
