
On Christmas Eve a Jefferson County man allegedly choked and bit a woman, now he is facing felony strangulation and related charges
According to court documents, the State Police in Punxsutawney filed criminal charges against 40-year-old Brent Richard Minick of Mayport. ExploreJefferson.com reported on Monday, December 24, Brent Richard Minick was at a Beaver Township, Jefferson County residence with a female when he allegedly grabbed her by the hair, hit her head off a door, and grabbed her throat, squeezing it, and making it difficult for her to breathe.
The complaint states that Minick also ripped a necklace off the victim’s neck and bit her left arm, breaking the skin and causing bruising to her left forearm and elbow. The victim also had a bruise on her right arm near her bicep from the assault.
Minick was arraigned by Monday morning in Magisterial District Judge Mizerock’s office on three charges, including strangulation and simple assault. He is free on $10,000.00 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing for this case has not yet been scheduled.
