
A preliminary hearing is set for a woman from Clarion who faces nearly 700 charges alleging she stole almost $250,000 from her mother over a three year period.
Court documents say, 56-year-old Deborah Lee Bottaro, is scheduled for District Court On January 8th, facing three charges, some with several counts, including 334 counts of Theft By Unlawful Taking and 14 counts of Forgery.
According to ExploreClarion.com, the alleged crimes occurred between May of 2015 and April of 2018. The victim is a 78-year-old widow who lives by herself in Clarion Township.
Over the course of the investigation Clarion State Police teamed up with the Clarion Area Agency on Aging to gather evidence that alleges, Bottaro who had power of Attorney, had misused that authority for unlawful gain in the amount of over $248,000.00
The criminal complainant says, the victim did not authorize or request multiple transactions from on her accounts and authorities allege, the defendant did not make these transactions for the benefit of the victim.
