Like the Pirates, the Steelers had Monday off, but they were still active, reportedly working out six players at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex.
NFL reporter Aaron Wilson says the Steelers brought in wide receivers Daylen Baldwin, T.J. Luther, and Sam Pinckney, running back DeShaun Fenwick, and edge rusher Joshua Pryor, all of whom have limited experience in the NFL, mostly on practice squads or as rookie free agents trying to hook on with other teams. Pryor has played the most in regular season games, appearing in seven games for Washington last season.
San Francisco and NBC reporter Matt Maiocco reports the Steelers “no longer are an option” in the trade market for 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk after they declined to meet the 49ers’ demands.
Mike Tomlin still has not mapped out a personnel plan for Friday’s first preseason game against the Texans, but Houston coach DeMeco Ryans has. He says he will be using his starters, although for how long remains to be seen.

Division rival Cincinnati has lost defensive lineman Cam Sample for the season due to a torn Achilles tendon.
Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua is out several weeks with a knee injury. Nakua set NFL rookie records with 105 receptions and 1,486 receiving yards last season. He was hurt in a joint practice with he Chargers on Sunday.
Titans defensive back Jourdan Thomas is out for the year with a torn ACL.
