Homer-Center District officials and police investigate some graffiti in a restroom in the elementary school on Monday.
A letter sent to parents, said that the writing on the restroom wall “went beyond childish scribbling and made reference to a potential school shooting.” Students saw the graffiti and reported it to district officials. The responsible person or persons were identified, and the incident has been addressed by both the district and law enforcement officials.
Superintendent Ralph Cecere said that, if appropriate, parents should talk with their kids and let them know that the school addressed the situation, and parents and children can talk with district administrators. He also thanked the students who brought the issue forward along with the quick work of district administrators and security.
