A defense attorney has filed a motion to challenge the detention of Luigi Mangione, who was arrested in Altoona earlier this week.
Mangione faces charges of forgery and illegal weapons possession after being recognized at a McDonald’s. Police say he provided a fake ID and had a “ghost gun” linked to the shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. NYPD investigators later reported Mangione’s fingerprints and matching shell casings were found at the crime scene.
