State police released more information on a crash involving a tractor-trailer carrying cows in Northern Indiana County last month.
The crash happened at 8:56 PM on December 22nd on a portion of Route 119 in North Mahoning Township. As the Peterbilt tractor-trailer was nearing the intersection with Engle Drive, the truck went into a left curve then went off the east side of the road, hitting a concrete road barrier with the front of the truck and rolling over onto its right side when it finally came to a stop. While the driver, John Alderfer of Souderton in Montgomery County, was not hurt, several cows were either killed or hurt in the crash.
The cause of the crash was an unknown vehicle failure. Charges were not filed against Alderfer.
