Eight fire companies battled a barn fire at a farm along Wilgus Road in Montgomery Township on Saturday.
The alarm for the working fire was sounded shortly after 3 PM for the Commodore, Glen Campbell and Marion Center fire companies, as well as others. Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control within the hour, thanks to Clymer firefighters chopping through the ice of a frozen pond to provide a source of water.
The steel roof on the building collapsed but no one was hurt. They remained on the scene for about three hours more.
