More information was released about a family of four who was hospitalized after a fire engulfed a downtown Clarion building Saturday afternoon.
ExploreClarion.com reports, the blaze started around 2:45 p.m. at 37 South 5th Avenue, which houses Vape n’ Play on the ground floor and apartments above. Flames were visible from the top floor. Fire Chief Doug Preston stated that the fire’s origin is still under investigation. Firefighters from multiple departments responded, along with local police and EMS. Roads near the scene were closed for hours as crews worked to control the fire.
The historic building is considered a total loss.
