Governor Josh Shapiro is scheduled to deliver his state budget address this afternoon before a joint session of the General Assembly, kicking off this year’s effort at fashioning a spending and revenue plan for Pennsylvania.
Representative Jim Struzzi, the House Appropriations Committee chairman, says the House will then return to session and get down to business, aiming for a new budget by the time the new fiscal year starts on July 1st. The session on Tuesday also begins a busy week of committee meetings and votes on a number of bills.
