The overnight employees at Symmco in Sykesville called to report the building was on fire and several firefighters responded to knock down the blaze.
According to today’s Punxsutawney Spirit, the fire started around 5 am yesterday and firefighters arrived quickly and found the fire was throughout the ceiling between the insulation and the metal roofing and between the rubber roofing.
The published report says crews from Jefferson and Clearfield Counties responded to assist, and damage was held to a small area.
